PAAL WILSGAARD
Experienced entrepreneur with a global network of partners in the offshore, renewables, and maritime sectors, having established and managed business entities across the Asia Pacific. Prior to Mx Blue, he was managing director of an early stage VC firm in Singapore. Prior to that he led the Global expansion of an energy rental firm he co-founded in 2011. After two decades working in the capital equipment and leasing sectors, he has a developed a global network of industry and investment professionals.

International experience from manufacturing in China and Global Rental Solutions. Experience from developing companies from start-up to global market players. Good market knowledge and international network in energy, minerals and renewables market.

Senior Advisors and investment committee are independent experts who collaborate with Mx Blue. They generate new investment possibilities, offer transaction advice, share sector insights, provide operational and industry-specific expertise, and use their wide network of contacts.

Started Investigate VC’s 1st fund in Dec 2017.
Worked on the investment side incl. operational roles in a few of the startups. Started as an equity analyst in one of Norway’s largest funds, Postbanken Verdipapirfond. Then shifted over to more private/VC focused investment companies. Came to Singapore in 2010 to build a Corporate VC, BW Ventures, for Mr Andreas Sohmen Pao.

Energy professional with extensive experience since 1995. Joined Energy PE firm SCF Partners in 2015, focusing on investment opportunities and supporting portfolio companies in Asia Pacific. Serves on the Boards of Shelf Subsea Pte and Contract Resources Pty. Previously acquired Cranesafe, later purchased by Forum Oilfield Technologies. Held VP roles at Forum, specializing in global growth. Gained international experience with Varco UK in Africa, Russia, and Europe, and specialized in offshore rig packages.

Previously worked as operating partner for Landmark Capital (a PE fund), Senior VP for NIBC Bank in Singapore, and other institutions incl. Pareto Securities and DVB Bank out of the Netherlands, Brazil, London, and Singapore. Professional accreditations include CIMA, VRC and AICD. Former Merchant Navy Officer & Engineer
